5/06/15 PC Speedwrite Stars and beyond from the beautiful Sun and why?

SPEEDWRITE: INFORMATION REPORT ON STARS

Today’s learning focus- WALT to write an information report on stars in 40 minutes.

My Information Report Success Criteria:
Self
Peer
My heading/title:

  • is an interesting title (I might have phrased the title as a question.)

My opening paragraph/introduction:

  • says what my report is about in a clear way

  • gives a general “classification” – and maybe a technical classification

  • outlines the main features of the subject

My main paragraphs/body paragraphs:

  • have clear topic sentences  (topic and main point)

  • are organised so that each paragraph is about a different aspect of the subject

  • give detailed information (factual descriptions)

  • include specific, technical vocabulary

  • are generally balanced (have a similar amount of detail about the different aspects I write about)

  • may have helpful: tables, pictures and/or diagrams to add information

My end paragraph/conclusion:

  • draws the report together/sums up my main points

  • may give a personal opinion; ask the reader a question and/or tell the reader where further information may be found

Begin Writing Here:

[Heading/Title of Information Report]
Stars and beyond from the beautiful Sun and why?

[Introduction]
Have you ever been interested in stars? Well if you have just wait and see what I have planned for you it’s going to be the time of your life.

Type of stars
The type of stars are really really cool the fact that I didn’t know was that there, was a lot of dwarf.     The first star the first dwarf star is a red dwarf star the red dwarf  star is a star that looks hot but actually it is really cold the next dwarf star is a yellow dwarf star that are not that hot or cold there just about the same temperature as our sun.

Life cycle of a star
Stars are born from a cloud of gas called a peninsula  after the  peninsula there is Neplea a Neplea a small star just like a dwarf star but it is the same temperature as us it’s really amazing then the potorstar  comes in a protostar is a  star that is a little bit bigger then a Neplea and a little bit colder.
Then while it changes it goes though a lot and changes to a main sequence star which looks really cool from earth.

What are stars
A star is a thing that shines in the night sky but it is actually not shining in the night sky it is actually the sun reflecting its light into the stars in the night sky which is really amazing to see in your telescope or binoculars stars a really shine. Sometimes when you see a shooting star it really isn’t a shooting star it is shooting meteor in the night sky.

[Conclusion]
Now you have some information about the stars in the night sky you might want to write your own information report and if you do look at all my other information reports that I have made and put on my blog and you can also go to this website: http://bit.ly/1h58XRN

WHY Did the Moon look upside down when Neil Armstrong step on it?

The great asteroid (the Moon) has lunar phases which means that it looks different every night. Some believe that the shapes are shadows from the Earth, however we will begin by explaining the Moon’s orbit of the Earth, and then go through the phases of the Moon.

WHY Did the Moon look upside down when Neil Armstrong step on it?
Introduction
The amazing asteroid, (the Moon) appears to change every night and has lunar phases which causes it to change shape. There are two lunar phases that the Moon appears in waxing gibbous and waning gibbous.

The moon’s orbit
The extraordinary asteroid, (the moon) is known to be orbiting around the earth and only the earth. The Moon goes through different phases every month or night, but when the moon orbits the earth and it gets back to where it started it is a new moon, then a waxing crescent, after that it is last quarter,  then amazingly a full Moon then it starts all over again but from the full Moon to the new Moon in waning.

Phases of the Moon
The Moon goes through phases every night or month manly there are eight phases in a month. The first phase is the new Moon the new Moon is a Moon that is no where to be seen at all. The next phase is a waxing crescent which looks like a banana, then it goes to a first quarter which the Sun is just shining on its hafe that's the part that you can see. After the first quarter it is a full Moon that means you can see the, whole inter Moon. When the full Moon has past it starts all over again but in waning and from the full moon to the new Moon.

  • Conclusion
Now you amazingly have some facts about the Moon you might even want to make your own explanation writing, but really if you want to learn more about the amazing asteroid (the Moon) vist this website: (http://www.sciencekids.co.nz/sciencefacts/space/moon.html).  And heres one more fact The average distance from the Moon to the Earth is 384403 kilometres (238857 miles).

2015 Term 2 Week 5 The deadly planet Mars!

Here is my ABCYA word cold of my writing I hope you like it and try and find a sentences that is in a paragraph.

In Week 5 of Term 2 our class focussed on how to write great information reports.
We wrote about the planet Mars as we are in the middle of learning about Planet Earth and Beyond. Learning how to write a geat information report will help us with our self-guided topics in a few weeks time.
Here is my writing, after I have self-assessed and peer-assessed my work.

THE AMAZING PLANET MARS that is very deadly

Image result for mars
Introduction :
Have you ever wonder why people don’t live on Mars. Mars is named after the god of war Mars.

Surface features :
Mars is really red and it is earth's next door neighbor and it is a an habitable planet. Even do it is half the size earth it is really cold, there's no water only the freezing cold pools that sick into the ground like hard goalposts.Mars has the largest volcano in the hole entire solar system. Even when Mars is covered with asteroids and meteors they still go in and make it really holey holes in its red liqucked dust. Mars is with nothing on it only red dust and rocky volcanoes, the red dust cause horrible things like sand storms that can make you blinded for ever and ever. Mars is really red because, of its red dust.
Could people live on mars :
Have you ever wonder why people can’t go on Mars? Well I’m going to tell you why we can’t live on Mars? Mars is a planet that is very cold it might seem hot but really it’s just it’s boiling red hot looks. The meteors and asteroids covering mars makes it impossible to land on that's why we can’t go no it.Mars is so cold when, it’s night colder than our night

conclusion :
I hope you have a few facts about mars our closest neighbor. This information report might won’t you to find out more about Mars and might, won't you to make your own information report. If you won’t to find out more about Mars you can go to this link: http://www.sciencekids.co.nz/sciencefacts/planets/mars.html
